Professional Exchange Trip on German STEM Education

Date: 28/03/2025

On 21 March 2025 (Friday), representatives from 15 T.W.G.Hs Primary Schools departed for Frankfurt, Germany, for a seven-day professional exchange trip. The focus of this trip included visits to the Technik Museum Speyer, Stuttgart City Library, the STEM engineering company Fischertechnik, and exchanges with several German schools.

During the exchange activities, the delegation visited Maria Ward Schule in Aschaffenburg, Waldorfschulverein in Frankfurt, and Montessori Schule in Wiesbaden to gain an in-depth understanding of the German STEM education model. This exchange emphasised a student-centred learning philosophy, encouraged the effective use of community resources, and highlighted the importance of hands-on practice. The delegation also learned about the principles and practices of German schools in respecting students' learning choices, fostering student agency, and creating a safe and friendly learning environment. Through this exchange, T.W.G.Hs Primary Schools will further promote the development of STEM education, providing students with richer learning experiences.
